Privacy Policy for StudyZone

StudyZone ("StudyZone", "we", "our", or "us") operates the StudyZone mobile application and related services available on Google Play (the "App"). This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. It is designed to meet Google Play's user data and Families policies, in addition to other applicable laws.

By installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and contact us for assistance.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information to operate the App:

• Account & Contact Data: Name, email address, phone number, preferred language, educational level, division, and optionally a profile image when you create or update an account.
• Authentication Data: Credentials needed to sign in, such as hashed passwords or identity tokens provided by Google when you choose "Sign in with Google".
• Usage Data: Activity within the App, including content viewed, search queries, sessions, subscription selections, and in-app interactions used to personalize learning recommendations and track progress.
• Device & Technical Data: Device model, operating system version, language, unique device identifiers, crash logs, diagnostics, and approximate location derived from IP address. We do not collect precise GPS data.
• Transactional Data: Purchase confirmations, subscription status, and payment state information supplied by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store full payment card numbers.
• Communications: Support requests, feedback, survey responses, and other information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.
• Third-Party Data: Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob may collect data on our behalf to provide analytics, diagnostics, and advertising services. These partners act as processors and may combine data they collect across apps per their own policies.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, operate, and improve the App and our educational services.
• Create and manage user accounts, including syncing progress across devices.
• Authenticate users, process subscriptions, and deliver purchased content via Google Play.
• Personalize content, recommendations, and notifications based on your enrollment data and usage patterns.
• Monitor performance, debug issues, prevent fraud or abuse, and ensure compliance with our Terms of Use and Google Play policies.
• Send important updates about courses, security alerts, customer support responses, and marketing communications (where permitted by law and your preferences).
• Meet legal or regulatory obligations and enforce our agreements.

3. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK users)

We process personal data to perform our contract with you, comply with legal obligations, pursue our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App, and based on your consent (for example, for optional marketing messages or analytics where required).

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share data with:

• Service Providers: Trusted vendors that host data, provide analytics (e.g., Google Analytics for Firebase), crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics), push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging), authentication, and customer support. They process data only under our instructions.
• Advertising Partners: Google AdMob and similar networks may use advertising IDs and device data to deliver and measure ads. You can reset or limit ad personalization through your device settings.
• Educational Partners: When you explicitly subscribe to teachers or courses, relevant progress data may be shared to deliver the content or enable mentorship features.
• Legal Authorities: Where required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of StudyZone, our users, or others.
• Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, sale, or acquisition, provided the recipient agrees to respect this Policy.

5. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, device IDs, and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure effectiveness, and show relevant content. Google AdMob may collect coarse location, device identifiers, and usage data to deliver ads in compliance with Google Play policies. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings or Google Ads Settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Inactive accounts are subject to periodic review and may be anonymized or deleted after 24 months. Aggregated or de-identified data may be kept for analytics.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, update, or delete personal data; restrict or object to certain processing; and withdraw consent or opt out of marketing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us using the details below or by using in-app account settings where available. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

8. Data Deletion & Account Management

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing mostafa@studyzone.app or using the in-app help center. Deletion requests will be honored within a reasonable timeframe, subject to legal retention requirements. Some residual information may remain in backups for a limited period but will be securely destroyed.

9. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards such as encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting to protect your data. Despite these efforts, no system is completely secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords and keep your credentials confidential.

10. International Data Transfers

StudyZone operates from Egypt and may process data on servers located in the European Union and other countries. When transferring data outside your home jurisdiction, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual clauses to ensure an adequate level of protection.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for students aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided data without consent, please contact us so we can delete it.

12. Google Play Data Safety Disclosures

Our Google Play Data Safety form reflects the data practices described in this Policy. Any changes to data collection, use, or sharing will be updated both here and in the Google Play Console disclosures before they take effect.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes, legal requirements, or user feedback. We will revise the "Effective Date" and provide in-app or email notice for material updates. Continued use of the App after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
